As usual, great work Andyman! Is that blue/green tone of the body the natural color of the metal, or is that paint?

The packaging's a great idea! I had something similar in mind for mini-sculpts done with small Aurora model boxes, but nothing robot related.

CM, it's this paint I found from Krylon called X-Metals (I bought it at Meijer). You can use it on bare metal or you can use a base coat for other materials. I sand the metal (in this case, electric motor casings) to a high sheen before I paint them. The results are spectacular! It's kind of like a transparent paint with metal flake in it. The paint comes in red, blue, green & yellow.

I have other bots I have made with this paint but I haven't unveiled them yet. [img]wink.gif[/img]

Are X-Metals anything related to auto-paint? I'd love to try this out on some primed plastic because those metal effects beat acrylic metallic craft paint anyday.

Will we have to wait long for the next robot unveiling, Mr.Secretive? [img]smile.gif[/img]

andyman, you really should have your work in museums or something. you are just amazing with the skill you have at making these.

CM, X-Metals are consumer type spray paints. They market them for painting scooters, bikes and mini bikes. They don't seem to be as durable as I'd like. I'm sensing it chips easily. I going to start clear coating them to see if that helps.

Chaser, I'm an artist...not an electrical engineer. [img]wink.gif[/img] I can put working LEDs in them but it's a pain figuring out what to do with the batteries. TCM's Erotobot for example, can't have the battery replaced without major surgery.
